There is nothing like the feeling of nostalgia; it’s a happy feeling, one that provides a momentary escape from the now. 8090.io is a conceptual community for enthusiasts of 80’s and 90’s culture and aesthetic.
Why nostalgia is relevant
The idea for 8090.io came about when looking at nostalgic things from my decade (the 90s) on the Internet. I have grown a fascination with the design styles from this decade, which also expanded into interest towards 80s design.
As it turns out, I am not alone. Heavy feelings of nostalgia exist among many people born in the 80s and 90s.
This article explains how the modern-day, social internet may be a contributor towards this trend. 8090.io answers this demand. Another article discusses the harsh realities of life, and how reliving childhood may be used as a method of comfort.

Inspired by MTV, the 8090.io logo is bound to no guidelines other than the VCR OSD Mono typeface and rewind button icon.
