UHF
UHF is a cult classic film starring parody artist “Weird Al” Yankovic. This film takes place in the 1980s and I was tasked with creating props and a commemorative book as if the movie took place today.
Props
I created several props for the “Spatula City” scene, which parodies a generic department store commercial. The design of the modern props simplifies the design down to the bare minimum in an almost snobbish fashion, effectively turning “Spatula City” into a luxury brand.
Commemorative book
The commemorative book was created for fans of the movie, but of course there is a modern twist. The book features present-day design elements such as glitch art, color transitions, patterns, and experimental typography.
